More bagssss

I had my second bag workshop in Minerva's circle. the fist was held last year around February and some of the same girls were there. I can tell you that this time most already knew what they were doing because we got to the middle of the workshop in just one meeting! Last time it took us about 5 weekends! Now, some of them used the sewing machine for the first or second time so to all of you keep up the good work and you will be very happy with the results!!! I guess it helped that we were a smaller group and also that Luca was enjoying aa nap with his grandparents instead of running around.
We will have more of this next weekend!

Easter eggs

This week we had a guest coming to our group to teach us something totally new for us. Easter egg decorations. Maria is from Slovakia and she knows how to make these wonderful eggs. We had a great time and the results are amazing! Thank yo so much Maria!

100 posts! and a celebration

It was Pilar's birthday again (can you believe it's been a year since that wonderful party??) and we celebrated in Minervas a couple of Sundays ago with cakeS and friends and a few little gifts. Happy birthday Pilar and our little web connection also has a 100 post birthday! Congratulations!

Meeting at Lake Alice

This Sunday was great. We couldn't meet in our regular meeting room so we decided to go to the lake instead. The weather couldn't have been more beautiful and it was as pleasant as it could be. It is always a pleasure to meet with all my friends, we have such a great time that I am eager to get to 4pm on Sundays to see them all. Luca was sleeping all the way to I was able to do something productive! We will meet again there next Sunday until the weather becomes too hot.

New week, new faces

We had a younger addition to our group, Akiko was learning how to make needlepoint with the help of her mommy.

Everybody else seemed to be deep into the embroidery project that carmen (from Bolivia) is teaching us.

And great sweets for dessert. Teri brought the best mango key lime pie ever! sold in Publix :)

And Gladys showed us what she is working on for a while now, a crocheted throw. Just amazing.

Embroidery Sunday

Hi again!
This Sunday there were many of us joining for good company, good food and some crafts too!
We have started some embroidery , that Carmen from Bolivia is teaching us. Here she is showing some new stitches to Lisseth.

Teri finished her new scarf! She made it so quickly! And it looks lovely!

Pilar and Cata enjoyed looking at magazines, nice recipes and nice patters too!

MArcela, Lisseth and I were working hard on our embroidery projects.

We now have a new database that Marcela prepared for our group and Teri was looking over our profiles. Bridget joined us in this group this Sunday.

Gladys was an advanced student and had her embroidery finished!!! And they were reading and discussing yummy recipes with Pilar.

Marcela made a super cute purse to put all her cosmetics. Nice fabrics from ikea.

Under the sun

The fact that we had no place to get into didn't stop us from sewing, chatting, and being productive this past Sunday! Only the cold weather was a bit annoying by the end. But we still had a great time and were probably more productive than usual.

And don't ask questions here, just so you know, outside there are no toys and you have to entertain the boy so he doesn't get tired of these crafty women. You do what you need to do to make him happy...
